WDA System Software, a division of William G Dempsey & Assoiciates is pleased to offer the following System Management/Utility software applications for Digital OpenVMS based Computer Systems.
An application that notifes System Managers via a Pager when predefined conditions occur. PagerPlus also allows ad-hoc, impromptu messages to be sent by users to pagers. It allows users to send a message at a specific time and allows a message to be sent to multiple users at once.
A User Management utility that monitors and deletes idle user processes on OpenVMS Systems. UserMana ger's ProcessView capability also provides an continuous view of processes and allows specific actions to be applied to specific processes.
A utility that locates files based in user supplied searching criteria. Searching can be limited to single or multiple storage devices. User specified actions can be performed on files that match the search criteria.
A Disk Management utility that monitors the free space, error and I/O rates and disk quotas on specific or all storage devices. StoragePlus send warning messages at one level of severity and critical messages at a different level of severity. Warning and critical messages can be sent to different managers. StoragePlus also monitors Hard and Soft Disk Quota (space allocation) levels.

PagerPlus is an automatic remote notification and monitoring software product that automatically monitors a number of facets of your system and environment and notifies you when conditions you define are not within tolerance. PagerPlus will also allow you to send any arbitrary message to Numeric and Alphanumeric Paging Devices (Pagers).
With PagerPlus, you can:
PagerPlus's monitoring component periodically gathers information about your system and notifies you if omething is going to potentially become a problem.
Once PagerPlus is configured, simply start PagerPlus's monitor and forget about manually monitoring problems on your OpenVMS system forever.
Assassin is an Idle Process Management (IPM) software product that automatically performs predefined actions on processes that are idle, inactive or meet special conditions. Processes that are idle continue to use numerous resources and prevent other user processes from taking advantage of the VMS operating system's ability to share limited resources. This can seriously impact system performance and place system security at risk. These idle processes can also block other users from accessing VMS or important software application programs by reserving limited license slots.
With Assassin, you can specify:
Assassin's monitoring component periodically gathers information about the processes on your system and decides if an action is required. If a process is consuming CPU time, generating I/Os or pagefaults above the thresholds you specify, then the process is perceived as being busy. Otherwise, it is considered idle. You can define how much resource consumption is required for a process to be considered as busy so that users are measured according to your definition of idle.
Once Assassin is configured as you desire, simply start Assassin's monitor and forget about idle processes on your VAX/VMS system forever.
FilesPlus is a system software product that provides powerful and easy-to-use capabilities to help you manage and control disk and file resources on OpenVMS systems. FilesPlus allows you to create disk and file storage reports and command files that can be utilized to effectively manage files on your system. FilesPlus has a menu interface and a DCL command interface. These interfaces are equivalent and provide similar access to all facets of the product's functionality.
FilesPlus allows you to produce both detailed and "Summary-Only" reports about files that meet your desired criteria. You specify which volume or volumes are reported when you generate the report. You may specify a single volume or any number of volumes. Disks may be locally attached or cluster-mounted devices.
FilesPlus allows you to direct that the report instructions be executed either immediately by your interactive process or in a batch queue. You may also place the DCL commands that create the desired report in your normally scheduled production procedures.
FilesPlus allows you to create a DCL command procedure that will contain the files listed in the equivalent report. This command file will contain the DCL command verb and qualifiers that you specify when requesting the report.
FilesPlus allows you to display the report output on your terminal screen. The display allows you to verti cally scroll through the output and search for any string of characters. You are thereby able to easily search for a specific file name or directory using FilesPlus's search capabilities.
StoragePlus is a Disk, Quota and File Management software product that automatically provides multiple levels of notification when disk, file, and quota activity exceeds specific thresholds you configure are exceeded. Disks that are mismanaged will negatively impact the performance and reliability of your computer system. Additionally, users that create files and consume disk space make it difficult for the System Manager to monitor the system storage environment on a timely basis.
Too often a condition will arise that can cripple an application or an entire system. Usually the condition can be taken care of before it causes any damage if the System Manager is able to "see it coming". Unfortunately, most system managers today are unable to devote as much time as they would like to prevention of these problems.
With StoragePlus, you can specify:
StoragePlus's configuration component allows you to tailor StoragePlus to meet the special needs of your organization, system, day of week and time of day.
Once StoragePlus is configured, simply start StoragePlus's monitor and forget about unexpected disk, quota or file system problems on your OpenVMS system forever.
